LAB TEST: Infections
LAB TEST: Infections
A wide range of tests for various infection states. These include:
HIV, Hepatitis B & C, Syphilis and Helicobacter pylori infections.
Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) is a type of bacteria. These germs can enter your body and live in your digestive tract. After many years, they can cause sores, called ulcers, in the lining of your stomach or the upper part of your small intestine. For some people, an infection can lead to stomach cancer.
An HIV test can either tell if a person has HIV or tell how much virus is present in the blood.
Hepatitis B and C are infections of the liver caused by the Hepatitis B Virus and the Hepatitis C Virus.
Syphilis is a bacterial infection usually spread by sexual contact. The disease starts as a painless sore — typically on your genitals, rectum or mouth. Syphilis spreads from person to person via skin or mucous membrane contact with these sores.
